Emmaus  Ministry

Emmaus Tamil Baptist Church

Emmaus Tamil Baptist Church was founded in 1984 by Senior Pastor Arokiasamy Anthony and his wife Margaret, with a vision to reach the Tamil-speaking community with the love and truth of Jesus Christ. The ministry began as an outreach from Bukit Mertajam Baptist Church (BMBC), with the support of the English section and by sharing the church building.

What started small has grown into a vibrant ministry that has touched many lives across Bukit Mertajam, Kulim, Butterworth, Bukit Tambun, Simpang Ampat, Jawi, Sungai Bakap, and beyond. By God’s grace, countless individuals have come to know the Lord through the faithful work of this ministry.

Emmaus Tamil Baptist Church is committed to serving the community through house cell groups, Bible studies, and regular prayer meetings. We also provide transport for those in need, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to be part of the fellowship and grow in faith.

In 2023, a new chapter began when I, Pastor Jonathan Roy, was ordained and called to expand the ministry to Penang Island. I discovered many families in need—those who had failed in life, were struggling with loneliness, brokenness, or battling personal issues such as lack of direction or poor attitudes. With God’s help, we’ve taken up this challenge to reach them, bring them into the fellowship, and guide them through the Word of God and a lifestyle of worship.

Our mission is clear: to glorify God and make disciples, sharing the hope of Christ with every person, especially those who feel forgotten or lost. We believe in the transforming power of God’s grace—and we are committed to walking alongside people until they experience that transformation in their own lives.

Our mission is simple: to glorify God and to make disciples, carrying the light of Christ into every home and heart we encounter.
